Ostra is located at 193 m. above sea level, between the Adriatic coast and the Umbria-Marche Apennine. According to the Ostra tradition it descends from the homonymous Roman city that once stood in the valley of the river Misa and that it was destroyed by the Visigoths 410 A.D. In the area called “The Muracce”, 9 Km away from the current Ostra, they can still see interesting archaeological remains of the ancient settlement. The long history Ostra crossed by the centuries has left the city with a rich artistic and cultural heritage.

Just 13km rises Corinaldo. Positioned on top of a hill is the city by the plant urban medieval and Renaissance. Defended by an intact city walls, among the best preserved in the Marche, it is an extraordinary example of military architecture. Within the city there are many important monuments, mostly Baroque and neoclassical: the churches and great mansions. Corinaldo was then known in the Catholic world for being the birthplace of Santa Maria Goretti.

Just 15km from Ostra Senigallia rises. A 30-minute drive lies the Regional Natural Park of the Red Gorge. Born in September 1997, with its 10,026 hectares, it is the largest regional protected area and includes the underground complex of Frasassi. A trip in the Park is a “journey into the heart of the Marches”, to discover the historical and artistic treasures, hidden by landscapes rich in charm and harmony, surrounded by nature and luxuriant. The park is an oasis of nature which offers the possibility of excursions in its many paths, admiring the typical flora and fauna richness of the environment pre-Apennine.
A 35-minute drive there are the Frasassi. Considered the largest underground complex in Europe are characterized by a set of underground passages with a length of about 30 km, divided into 8 different geological levels. Notes for the stalactites and stalagmites, ancient limestone concentrations, from the most different forms, the Frasassi caves are a popular destination for all caving enthusiasts and nature lovers.

A 40 minute drive is the Parco del Conero. environmental oasis born around Monte Conero: 572 meters of Mediterranean bush overlooking the sea. Established in 1987, the Park is a protected area where you can stroll in the 18 trails that wind through the woods, alone or accompanied by expert guides, to observe the transit of migratory birds, visit precious historical and artistic treasures. A breathtaking sea, the blue sky that is lost in the sea, the bright green of the Monte Conero dominating the top, two white cliffs (Two Sisters) resting gently on the water, in short, a natural show without boundaries, that’s why the beach of the Two Sisters of Sirolo in the Marche is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy.
A 50-minute drive is Urbino. The ancient capital of the Duchy of Montefeltro comes on top of two hills and along their slopes with roofs of houses and churches sloping down towards Porta Lavagine north-east and Porta Valbona to the southwest. It is one of the largest metedel world artistic tourism, for its history and the many monuments and works of art it contains. Every year in August, Urbino celebrates the Festival of the Duke: a re-enactment in costume through the streets of the center with the participation of acrobats and fire eaters, culminating in the challenge between counties in the presence of the Ducal Court.

- Vado in questo ristorante da quando ero piccola, solo ed esclusivamente per prendere gli gnocchi ripieni al sugo d'anatra da asporto, mai mangiati cosà¬ buoni come li fanno loro!!! Da provare anche le chicchette!! Ogni volta che torno a Ostra dai parenti è sempre una tappa fissa prendermi una porzione!!
- La Cantinella è un ottimo ristorante dove poter gustare dei piatti in qualche modo unici. Gli gnocchi ripieni all'anatra, valgono da soli il viaggio, ma sono degni di citazione anche il fritto di carne e il gelato flambè. Ambiente informale e personale un pà² atipico e alcune volte non simpaticissimi. Resta comunque un posto dove almeno una volta bisogna andarci
- Locale grande e accogliente, la carne viene cotta nel grande camino della sala. Tipici piatti locali, ottimi i fritti.
